How to use Remove Extra Spaces

Choose whether to normalize spacing, discard blank rows, or remove horizontal whitespace.

Text Space Cleaner

  1. Paste the text into Insert list. Keep any line breaks that should remain between entries.
  2. Under Mode, select Remove extra spaces, Remove extra spaces and empty rows, or Remove all spaces.
  3. Click Remove spaces to process the current input.
  4. Read Result and Number of rows. The first two modes trim row edges and collapse repeated horizontal whitespace; the third removes horizontal whitespace entirely.
  5. Click Copy under the output you want to keep. Use Clear where shown to clear the text fields; option selections stay as set.

For Apple pie , the default mode returns Apple pie. Remove all spaces returns Applepie.

Spacing cleanup works within rows

Spaces and tabs inside a row are normalized without joining separate rows. The default retains blank rows, while the second mode removes them.

All spaces also includes tabs

Remove all spaces removes horizontal whitespace rather than just repeated ordinary spaces. Line breaks remain, so it does not turn a multiline list into one line.

Remove blank rows or all horizontal whitespace

Choose Remove extra spaces and empty rows to clean spacing and discard blank rows. Choose Remove all spaces to join the characters within each row, then click Remove spaces and review Result.

Frequently asked questions

No. It cleans spacing within rows while retaining the row layout. Choose Remove extra spaces and empty rows to discard blank rows too.
