Remove Rows with Stop Words
Developer & Author —Egor VolchenkoRemove rows with stop words to separate unwanted entries from the rest of a list. Supply your own terms, then review both the kept rows and the rows containing those terms before using the filtered output.
Treat uppercase and lowercase letters as different characters.
How to use Remove Rows with Stop Words
Supply the terms you want to filter and review the two output lists together.
Stop Word Row Filter
- Paste the source rows into Insert list. Enter the terms to find in Stop words, one per line.
- Leave Case-sensitive off to match letter-case variants. Select it when capitalization should change which rows are selected.
- Click Execute to process the current input.
- Read Rows without stop words and Rows with stop words. Rows remaining and Rows removed count the two groups; the source text stays available above them.
- Click Copy under the output you want to keep. Use Clear where shown to clear the text fields; option selections stay as set.
For apple pie, pineapple, and pear, enter apple as the stop word. The kept result is pear; both other rows go to Rows with stop words.
Terms match inside a row
Matching uses literal substrings, not whole-word boundaries. A term such as apple also matches pineapple. Each row is selected when any supplied nonempty term appears in it.
Separate rows without changing their contents
The filter moves complete matching rows into the second output. It does not delete only the matching words or apply colored highlighting inside the source text.
Frequently asked questions
